Currently the availability and outage calculation does not take any scheduled maintenances into account. For example, if I put a switch into maintenance mode and then disconnect it from the network, the device still gets an outage and that affects it’s availability. If the maintenance and outage caused by it are planned, it should not affect any service levels. I believe there are two possibilities to work this out;
- Do not create an outage for devices that are on scheduled maintenance (configurable option if someone actually needs to calculate all possible outages?)
- Calculate other than overlapping time from scheduled maintenance and outage when inserting outages into database
Any ideas about this one?
