Edit subject name for alert rule email/operation

The default subject rule for alert emails and the body is noy very useful to me. It may be useful to others but I find that a lot of the details in then body mean nothing to me.

For the subject line, I don’t need to see the device hostname, device name is enough, the hostname makes it very long. I would also like to see Down in the body. I like that ‘recovered’ is added automatically, but seeing Down would be helpful.

Is there a way to easily change the subject message via the web GUI?

Also, there is a bug with operations. When I select an existing rule, it has #10 as the operation (which doesn’t exist. If I click the dropdown and click on an existing operation, it still shows #10. If I click the x it removes #10 but when I select my existing operation it still shows #10. If I save, I see the operation I selected under notification settings. It doesn’t do this all the time, but on 3 new rules I have just added, it did it for 2 of the 3. I am selecting and existing rule to mirror if that helps with anyone that is curious about troubleshooting.

Alert emails can easily be customized, see Templates - LibreNMS Docs

I can’t find it in the web gui settings, I will check again, thanks.

Ah, click the notifications button ( Circle ! ) in the drop down menus, to the right of Health, Alert Templates.

Thanks, I see it. I’ll test around and see if I can come up with something that works.
