Send a notification only after X failed ping down count?

Some devices have scheduled reboots, updates, VM snapshots backups. It’s tolerable to be unreachable for a small amount of time. I don’t want to be notified every time this happens.

Can I set the alert rule to send a notification only after X failed attempts?

An example like Mikrotik Dude:

  1. It will ping every 30 seconds
  2. wait another 30 second before pinging again

after 10 failed circles (600sec) it will send notification.

  1. LibreNMS only pings when it polls by default. If you want an interval faster than that, you should set up fast ping: Fast Ping Checking - LibreNMS Docs

  2. Alerts have a delay option. This is in time, so you would set delay to 10m (600s).

Yes, I got it. The problem was I had it set to 5s instead of 5m :slight_smile:
