I let LibreNMS discover almost all devices and it worked relatively well.
I had to add a few devices manually, but on the whole everything worked out fine.
However, I have a switch that is not displayed anywhere. If I want to add this manually, I get a message that this is not possible because the device is already available. I can neither find it on the network map nor in the device list and can therefore not delete it in order to create it again manually.
Question: Can I delete the devices elsewhere?
It is also strange that the neighboring switch at the port of the uplink to this missing switch shows a loop on the network map. There is definitely no loop in there.
I am not sure, but I think I found the problem.
LibreNMS can only handle Devices that have unique Names (not just IP-addresses).
I changed the Name of that switch and was then able to add that SW to LibreNMS.
Unfortunatly the Network-Map show me still a loop at that place. Maybe I have to delete that switch and add it again afterwards?
So my 1st issue is resolved: I was able to add that device. The 2nd issue is still present: the network-map is showing a loop but htere is no loop.
can you post a screen shot of the map? I honestly have yet to see anything with LLDP not screw up somewhere no matter what NMS you’re using. Maps have looked screwy in whatsup gold, observium, netdisco and librenms.
Personally I stick to using network weathermap and the device dependency map.
