A way to reduce total amount of writes for flash backed installs

So I have an install that is running on solid state storage, and I’m looking for ways to reduce total I/O writes to the disk.
I’ve already setup rrdcached, and that helps but it still wears out an SSD in a few years.
I know this is probably a big ask sorry, I’m not a programmer, just a linux guy.
these were the only ideas I came up with and they were all things I could maybe do outside the code.

I’d still like to have _previous and _current in the database for alerts, but maybe a way to turn off the rest of the data collection for a device?
like the ability to turn off graphs for individual sensors that I don’t need data for?
I thought about maybe have RAM backed RRD files in a zram disk that have a depth of 2 so that you would still have _previous and _current data points?

not sure what would be the easiest given the way the code works, just wanted to throw the idea out there

you can tune rrdcached as much as you like to reduce writes. It just increases the risk of data loss is all.
“RAM backed rrd files” is just rewriting rrdcached.

You can definitely disable modules per device/os/globally.

FYI, I’ve been running on SSDs for 10+ years and it is still looking good.
