Can't add one iDRAC (others OK)

Hi,

I’ve added a Dell Chassis, all OK, and then 6 iDRAC’s.

5 of the iDRAC’s added without a problem, 1,2,3,4,6, but the 5th one didn’t.

It returns:

Any ideas what the problem is here?

I’ve made sure the “DNS DRAC Name” is unique for each, but I haven’t configured any of the “System Location” details in the iDRAC’s.

Thanks.

Michael.

If you’re sure that not a duplicate can you try to force?

Yes positive. The blackened part if the hostname which is unique.

When I was adding them one by one, I started with the first, then went to the second, then the third, then the fourth, all added, when I got to the fifth got that error.

So being stuck on iDRAC 5, I then went into each of the iDRAC’s (1, 2, 3) and noticed they all had the name of “idrac8”. So I changed them to something unique.

Went back to add the device, same duplicate sysName error.

So I then went to add the sixth one, no problems.

Now that I updated 1,2,3, I went to Edit the config of the device, then did “rediscover device”, hoping the “System Name” in the Overview page of LibreNMS would update, but still showing “idrac8” in the web interface.

Would it be easier to just remove them all and start again? or would this make things worse?

Michael.

The info should be updated, pastebin the output of ./poller.php -h HOSTNAME -d -m os -r -f

Hi Laf. Sorry for the delay in getting to this.

Below is the output:

Should I try the “Force add” option as FTBZ suggested?

Thanks.

Michael.

Force add will bypass the duplicate sysname check.

That poller output is either against a device not added or one that’s disabled or ignored.

Hi Laf,

Thanks. It makes no sense.

Either way, I’ve performed the force add and it’s come up fine.

Thanks for your assistance.

Michael.
