I use quite a few Cisco 2960 switch stacks at the access layer. I’ve created a rule that alerts when a stacking port goes down so I know if a stack member goes offline. Now I’d like to create a dynamic group for all switch stacks to apply this rule to. Otherwise, it will alert on switches that are capable of stacking, but are not in a stack, which I obviously don’t want. I also don’t want to rely on a static group or change naming conventions.
