I would like to know if anyone could provide me with some assistance on creating a group for my “Windows” devices. When I create a group for my Cisco devices I’m using devices.os like ios and that works fine. However, if I try to do the same thing for my “Microsoft Windows Server 2016” devices it doesn’t find anything
That’s because the “device.os” is the definition file used by librenms and its listed as “windows”. So doing device.os = “Microsoft Windows Server 2016” will not work.
Suggestion, here is what I use to group all my windows servers.
This works perfect, what if I wanted to separate them into groups however for systems that are 2016, 2012, 2012 R2, 2008 R2, 2008… is this possible or is it just too much work to do that? Thanks for your swift reply, it’s greatly appreciated!!
I never tried to group them out by different versions. But you could try it out, maybe something like this.
(you are going have to play with it) to see what works.
Thanks, I will give this a try tomorrow and then I’ll update this if it works, I really appreciate your assistance!
This works for me, thanks for all of your assistance I greatly appreciate it, I’m sure to have more as I just stood up our instance of LibreNMS last week and have been diligently getting many of our network items on it. Now I’m trying to fine tune it and get some of the things more organized.
