I have some questions about Service Templates that are not covered in the documentation(Nagios Plugins - LibreNMS Docs).
The Device Type = dynamic is not mentioned at all. I found a few posts, but non of them clearly explains how it’s supposed to work.
When I select Device Type = dynamic, it adds the templates to all hosts that match the device rulesin the template in addition to all hosts in the device groups I specified.
Is that what other people see and what should happen?
I’d expect that it would be apply the rules to filter the hosts in the selected device groups.
Further the Service Templates Auto Discovery is not working for Device Type = dynamic rules without hostgroups on my system. Is this working for anyone? (I’m asking because the code suggests it’s not supposed to)
At this point, I wonder what the use case for Device Type = dynamic is at all?
