How do I: Monitor Windows Services?

is it possible to monitor and alert on windows services? For example we use an application called merrick on a windows server, I need to monitor that service and get an alert if it goes down.

I am a Linux novice, it took a few tries to get librenms installed, so please be detailed in your response.

I’m not aware of way to do that atm. Also windows snmp implementation is very limited.
