I’m having a problem with SNMP on my Huawei ETP4860-B1A2 power controller with an SMU11B module. After a recent LibreNMS update, the device is blocking my SNMP access despite correct LibreNMS configuration.
The following error message appears in the controller logs every few minutes:
snmp_agent.cpp [412]: auth unlock! ip: 89.24.25.63
snmp_agent.cpp [439]: auth lock! ip: 89.24.25.63
The address 89.24.25.63 is MY address (LibreNMS server).
The community string is correct, SNMP is working, and then after a few minutes, it’s blocked again.
Additionally, the following entries appear in the logs:
set file trans mode 1
T Cnt:0x9, set file trans mode 1
This appears to be a looping IP blocking mechanism after several SNMP requests.
On the LibreNMS side:
- SNMP v2c
- correct community
- no configuration errors
- tested intervals other than 5 minutes
How can I solve this problem? It’s incredibly annoying.
The SNMP walk sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t.
This happened suddenly on all such devices on the network.
