Interface Description Parsing - Double provisioning?

Hi everyone,

We’re getting ready to deploy the required tags for interface description parsing using LibreNMS but I just wanted to clarify the following situation:

  • CORE equipment A connects to ACCESS equipment B using for example a 100 GbE port.

Should the 100 GbE port on A have the ACCESS tag and the port on B have the CORE tag ?

Whould this not duplicate (mirror) the overall traffic collected for graphing purposes?

How you tag them is entirely up to you but yes, if you have both tags configured for transit / peering then you will see a combined graph of both those ports.
