IPMI instructions?

I’d like to monitor the status of the power supplies in my SuperMicro servers.
I’ve having the hardest time figuring out how to work with IPMI and LibreNMS.
This page is pretty vauge:
http://docs.librenms.org/Support/Configuration/#ipmi
This page doesn’t help much either:
http://docs.librenms.org/Support/Poller%20Support/

It sounds like i need to put my IPMI username and password somewhere but it isn’t clear where.
Even when I do figure out where to put the log and pass… I’m not sure what the next steps are. Does anyone know of a good how to on this?

Log in as an administrator and then go to the following URL (substitute your LibreNMS domain name and device ID):

https://monitoring.$YOUR_DOMAIN/device/device=$DEVICE_ID/tab=edit/section=ipmi/

That worked, and I was able to add the IPMI. But clicking around the servers Librenms page, I didn’t notice any changes. Meaning I didn’t see any monitoring of the power supplies, or any of the other hardware sensors.

I had the same issue as you. Documentation isn’t explicit about IPMI.
So you need to activate IPMI polling remotely on your Supermicro servers (go into IPMI administration).
Then configure IPMI login in your device (as you already done).

Wait for 15 to 30 min and you will get the IPMI data

that’s because IPMI setup differs from vendor to vendor.
