LibreNMS is not monitoring VDOMs after FortiGate upgrade

Hello all,

I have a FortiGate device and couple of VDOMs on it. FortiGate was on version 6.x and monitoring worked normal both for the “box” (physical device) and for the VDOMs.

After software upgrade of FortiGate to version 7.2.7, monitoring of the FortiGate “box” works normal, but VDOMs are not monitored any more.

What I saw as well on LibreNMS is that the version on the FortiGate’s box itself is current (OS is 7.2.7), but when I checked VDOMs, on each there is the different version: 7.0.13 or 7.0.10 or 7.0.12 (note: while upgrading the FortiGate it is not possible to reach the end version in one step, e.g. from 6.x. first “jump” is to 7.0.10, then upgrade to 7.0.12, then 7.0.13, then last upgrade to 7.2.7 etc. as I remember the versions - upgrade path for FortiGate devices).

Maybe that is causing the issue, but I am not sure if I need to re-discover the VDOMs again so the OS version would be a good one.

Does anybody has a clue why is this happening and how I can tackle it?

Thanks in advance
Filip

Creating a separate account on FortiGate for every single VDOM works and deals with this issue. There is a bug for 7.2.7 version of FortiGate, but it should be resolved as well on versions 7.2.8 or 7.2.9 automatically. If you want to stay on 7.2.7 version you can create a separate account for every VDOM (user must be different of course). Use for the Box is “username” and for VDOMs “username”-“VDOM_name”
