I’m old school and lean toward physical however my install is currently in VMWare. I understand a lot of new innovation has been done. Let me know what system you are using and how it’s running.
We use bare metal for our rrdcached, redis, mysql and influx server, and kuberetes for our pollers and UI pods.
Different horses for different courses?
I assume whatever works and is supportable by you/your team is the best
