I’m using a rule in my Librenms to keep an eye on 2 groups I created: servers and storage. I’m using this: macros.device.down Severity: Warning, Max alerts 1, Delay 1m and an interval of 5 minutes. What am I exactly doing with this rule? Can I really check if devices are still running or is this even an check if they lost communication with the network? I have a server for the moment where I got this alert from. I’m pinging the machine by hostname and IP and I see that I’m losing connection on the network for a brief time. is this enough to trigger this alert? Can someone enlight me please?
