FBD table updates happen only with the discovery. Would it be possible to add separate polling cycle for those so that it would be possible to search newly added devices from the network?

You can run a discovery more often, only with the fdb-table module. Be careful as it may be ressource consuming for your switches.
something like this should do the trick:
./discovery.php -h all -m fdb-table
