Network Map Layer 2 links

Hello there,

I’m new in the LibreNMS community. I have a problem with the network map. I have added a few devices (mostly Windows servers) and most of them have a physical link to a switch. Indeed, the network map displays those edges as it is supposed to do but it also displays multiple edges to other devices, which are refered as the same interface.

That’s what i get : orange links are the real links and the green one is the edge that I don’t want to be displayed.

From what I understand, the map is based on ARP tables, that’s why I have so many links. Is there a way to only display physical links ?

You are using ARP to map, it doesn’t understand physical topology, just what devices can see other devices.

If you want only physical links to be displayed you need to use lldp, cdp, or similar. (which of course windows doesn’t support).

You may want something where you can build your own maps like the Network Weathermap plugin. https://docs.librenms.org/Extensions/Weathermap/
