OS detection: Ericsson Cradlepoint W1855 shown as “CradlePoint WiPipe”, should be NetCloud OS (NCOS)
Logo is also incorrect.
Description:
LibreNMS detects my Ericsson Cradlepoint W1855 (5G wideband adapter, NCOS v7.26.80 FR1 (Mon Aug 10 20:32:53 UTC 2026)) as <CradlePoint WiPipe 7.26.80.3e46056c17>.
Cradlepoint renamed its operating system from WiPipe to NetCloud OS (NCOS), and Cradlepoint is now part of Ericsson. The device should display as:
OS: NetCloud OS (NCOS)
Vendor/Hardware: W1855
Logo - See Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions
SNMP polling works correctly; only the OS nameis outdated.
Steps to reproduce:
Enable SNMP on the W1855 (via NetCloud Manager or the local UI).
Add the device to LibreNMS.
Discovery identifies it as CradlePoint WiPipe 7.26.80.3e46056c17.
Expected behavior:
The OS should display as “NetCloud OS (NCOS)” with Cradlepoint/Ericsson branding. The hardware is correct, but the logo is old Cradlepoint and needs to be updated to the current Ericsson logo.
