Polling time of BGP peers -> Basic BGP State

Hi,

I’m having issues with the polling time of the bgp-peers module on some of our IOS XR devices. The polling time for 30 peers takes around 700 seconds.

bgp-peers looks to retrieve a whole host of info about the peer that i’m not after / dont need. Is there a way to reduce this so that i only poll for current / admin state? as that’s primarily what i’m after

Also, does that timing look right to everyone? are you getting similar times on your bgp-peers polling cycle? Or is there something further i need to look into.

Ignore, Looks like BGP peers are impacted more by delayed DNS queries, i assume as they make more, but smaller queries to get the info they need.
Everyone deploy a recursive DNS server on your server… performance gains are well worth it.
