When trying to set the port association mode on a VM it fails.
We have several VMs that “bounce” ports this has caused the port numbers to grow substantially. I have cleaned them up now so only down to a couple hundred rather than millions.
I saw in a couple other post to change the ifindex to ifName under the SNMP setting of the WebUI
When I did that I get an error

So if I force save will it use the ifName or continue to use ifindex?
I would like to have it so that the ports don’t grow as fast sometime the ports can bounce several times in a day and with 30+ interfaces configured can easily be in the hundreds if not thousands in a single day between all the VM.
Does anyone have any recommendations to try and fix?
I have searched through log files and not seeing anything
