Hi,
let’s say we have a port on a switch that has been down for 40 days, if I have enabled config[‘rrd_purge’] = 30 LibreNMS will delete that ports rrd file after 30 days since it has not been updated. What happens if port comes up again, will LibreNMS recreate a new rrd file for that port?

Yes, it will start from new RRD files indeed.
