Rrdcached question

I just have a question that hopefully one of the kind folks here can answer. I have the latest Librenms package installed on Ubuntu 22.10. It is running fine, and I do not seem to have any issues. I was thinking of enabling “Fast Ping”. The documentation refers to rrdcahed by stating “If you are using” and “If Applicable”. So, my question is, do I need rrdcached to use Fast Ping? The documentation seems to make the assumption it is installed. So, I am confused as to whether I need it or not. I believe I am just using the standard cron poller rather than distributed.

I found that it is not required to have rrdcached installed. It is optional. I set things up according to the documentation ignoring the parts about rrdcached, and then tested and verified that pings were happening at the proper time.
