It looks to me like a lot of thresholds are just ± 20% of the initial value at first discovery of the device.
For a lot of devices there exist datasheet describing the tolerable parameters like CPU temperature and acceptable environment parameters like operation temperature and humidity. Having better defaults would help a lot in adding more acceptance to my internal customers (the network team).
All sensors we record data for can have thresholds set if the device sends it back and someone has added support for it or manually defined thresholds from data sheets as you suggest. It just needs people to actually contribute them.

I will ask for specifics as my first check found some devices where the CPU temperature threshold look like the are sane and I din’t see any customization under /edit/section=health.
The discovery of high/low values is done in yaml or PHP, what os is this for?
