Hi guys.
Just would like to share my error interface graph.
This maximun error happens on 5.1 Gbps traffic.
Mi feeling is:
Im getting 624mpbs of dropped packets.
It means that more than 10% of traffic is being dropped?
It is a very critical situation …
Hope to hear your feeling.
I think m here is milli, not mega. But since this is a nework issue and a librenms issue, this is not really the right place to ask
Usually output discards would occur when the receiving side can’t hold any more data in their buffers. So if there is a burst for example and the port is already heavily loaded, it can happen.
Exactly … this is my question … are those mili or megas ?? ( since there is little k also … )
Where do you consider to be the right place to ask about this ?
Any way … thanks !!
Ah sorry, haha I thought you were asking why do you see discards
Normally in networking you would only use K but I THINK, this one is milli, I’ll try to find an interface that is bursty or something for an example, could be tricky though.

Heh… the m
from milli looks like it say XXX mbps
(megabits per second) and it is XXXm bps
which means XXX millibites per second.
I understand your confussion.
Yea I think the milli usage can get quite confusing, would be handy to be able to disable that completely. I certainly don’t care about most values what would be milli
But in the end it is correct so can’t complain too much
I vote to get rid of milli also
