Showing a device value on a dashboard

Hello,

Liking Librenms very much and just experimenting with it.

I was hoping to display a simple value (as a number) on a dashboard, specifically I have some temperature values which I’d like to display as a simple number on a widget, but I’m not seeing how/where this can be done (if at all).

I have the graphs working that display and graph the temperature of the sensors (I get these from a custom OID) but rather than displaying the actual graph on the dashboard, I’d like to simple display the value itself.

An additional wish would be to have the value background colour change depending on the warning/alert levels (if OK, show value on green background, if in warning, on yellow, if in alert in red, etc…).

Is this at all possible with Librenms?

Many thanks in advance.

Yes it is possible. None of the current widgets do that.

Server stats does something similar, but doesn’t do what you ask:

@murrant thanks for taking the time to reply.

Yep, seen Server Stats, this won’t do it unfortunately as it is in a custom OID and I really only want to show a single number that is contained within the OID (the temperature value).

I’ll add it to to the feature requests, I think I saw someone else looking for the same thing.

Many thanks.

Hello @omega1

A project where you can investigate, looking for your solution, is Zabbix. NMS tool also opensource.

They use plugins in their dashboards that do exactly what you are looking for.

I think that if you go there, you will find your solution, and you will learn many more things to apply with LibreNMS.

The project:
https://www.zabbix.com/
https://git.zabbix.com/repos?visibility=public

Good luck with that!
