I hope it is the right place to discuss this kind of subject.
Are they any kind of initiative to simplify the protocols used between distributed pollers and “central” serveurs ? Maybe it has been already discussed (my bad, didn’t find the discussion).
Like using a message bus protocol (AMQP, ZeroMQ, XMPP, MQTT, …), I understand that would add more component/process to manage and run, but it could add some value when your security team is tight on what protocols you’re allowed to use (and they tend to dislike NFS and SQL through firewalls).
Just an idea…
