Turn off automatically adding more interfaces on device already added

I have a Calix E7, once a ONT comes online, it adds the 4 ethernet ports to the ifindex. This would be problematic once you get to 1000’s of ONTs. Just want the ability to turn off adding additional interfaces from ifindex, once the device is already added.
